Authorial Blathering Intact

Many of you seemed to enjoy the “authorial blather” behind-the-scenes musings I included in my serialization of Bone Shop last year, so I’m going to continue the tradition with Broken Mirrors. This time, though, I’m not going to make separate posts for those author notes, which tend to be short, anyway — I’ll just include them in the comment thread for each chapter. Probably as the first comment, unless some of you are REALLY quick to post…

Look for chapter one on Monday, by 9 a.m. Pacific time. It involves jailbreaks, face-punching, verbal cruelty, and Ominous Hints of Things to Come.

Ah! I just randomly googled to see if there’s another Marla book and omg! Omg~!! Ah! Really? Just in time for spring break?

….I think this is the first time I’ve even considered paying money for anything written online (since I’d once been a hardcore fanfic writer, I’m very donation-free). So, uh, just in case I don’t– maybe the thought counts for… something. :> At the moment, I’m thinking I’ll just buy the book when it comes out, how’s that. I’m a poor student, you know. 😀

Anyway, awesome. Totally, mind-blowingly awesome. Just goes to show that online publishing isn’t *just* the huge leviathan that’s destined to destroy all that’s good and pure about precious print. :)

Great start. Just the right mix of mysticism, wit and ass-kicking I want from a Marla Mason book. I’ll sort my donation out later this evening. Looks like it’s going to be well worth it.

While I’m not likely to explode…I’m psyched! I was way bummed out when those bozos dropped your series.

That $10000 prize is wicked tempting, but…I think I’m gonna have to resign myself to your heartfelt thanks. That’s good too. And it goes without saying that I’ll be buying the ebook when it hits Amazon!

Thanks, Josh! AMAZINGLY no one has gone for the ten grand option yet. You should go in on it with a thousand of your friends….
